ALT_ESC Radio is an internet radio station dedicated to the greatest era of alternative rock. WHO… is ALT_ESC Radio?
ALT_ESC Radio is the brain child and creation of Jeff DeBoer, a veteran of the radio industry with a passion for the alternative rock of the 80s and 90s. Jeff spent 14 years in the radio industry including time spent with Cumulus Broadcasting in Topeka, KS, KNRQ-FM (Eugene, OR), KROG-FM (Medford, OR), KCHZ-FM (Kansas City), and with Union Broadcasting in Kansas City. He eventually changed careers, but his fire and passion for broadcasting lived on. He was especially interested in internet broadcasting, and he dreamed of creating his own streaming radio station to play a genre that is unrepresented in the Kansas City radio market. After spending a couple years researching and preparing, ALT_ESC Radio has now gone from dream to reality!
WHY… is ALT_ESC Radio?
Jeff realized that there was a gap in the Kansas City radio market, and a whole generation of music lovers who weren’t hearing the music they grew up loving on the radio. Classic Rock radio is still largely aimed at the Baby Boomer audience, and modern Alternative stations are programmed for a younger crowd. But the alternative rock classics that defined Generation X, who grew up in the 80s and 90s, are few and far between on KC radio. But not anymore! With ALT_ESC Radio, you get nothing but the best classic alternative rock, streaming live, 24/7, from right here in Kansas City!
